The Woodroyd Centre is part of a ten year regeneration strategy for the West Bowling area of Bradford. The building is to house agencies such as SureStart, Healthy Living Action, Library, new facilities for PCT, West Bowling Training & Advice Centre, communal offices, meeting rooms and counselling rooms. The site is a flattened, former school site.
It was agreed in the early stages of consultation that an environmentally sustainable building is a priority. The design concept is for a building with an atrium core linking healthcare with community facilities which responds to street patterns and views. The building is designed as a welcoming place which responds to the communities requirements through extensive consultation.
